Sleep is great for kids
So, I have always been a schedule stickler. I feel like my day goes better and my kids behave better if we do things at the same time every day. Just after I had the twins, I was in the grocery store, and behind me there was another mother with 1 year old twin boys. She asked me how I was doing and if I was getting any sleep at night (maybe she could tell because of the way I looked.... hehe) Anyhow, she told me about this book.
I suggest it to anyone with kids I mean ANYONE! It gives the example that you wouldn't let your kids go without food, or clothing, why would you let them go without the sleep that they need. As adults, any sleep problems we may have, most likely stem from when we were children ourselves. Anyhow, this is a must read! My kids WANT to go to bed for naps and for bedtime, in fact, they typically run there. So if you are dragging throughout the day and your children are acting up, you are a candidate for this book.
And we now have 2 year olds running amuck in our house!!
Tenille and Lacey are 2!!! We Celebrated their birthday 1 week early because we had family in town that wanted to celebrate with us! Anyhow, we had one party with Brad's side of the family, and on party with my side of the family combined with a family home evening lesson. They got lots of cool stuff. I got them some drums (do I have stupid written on my forehead or what?!?!) new clothes, and a cool new slide.
The only good picture I got at the part with my side of the family. But AOK because I didn't get any good pictures of blowing out the candles at the other one.
Opening gifts (print them out, you could make a movie!)
Sharing the party with Grandpa!! (he got jelly bellies)

1 Months worth of dinners in 1 Night!!
So, we have a group of people that got together and did 24 meals. They feed 5-6 people and have most of the ingredients for the meal included minus the staple items that most people have in their houses or fresh produce. It's really economical and it takes a lot of the hassle out of figuring out what to cook and cooking it. I can just go pull a bag out of my freezer and cook it! They are really yummy too. Sweet Pork Salad is my favorite so far, but I am always looking for more recipes so if anyone has any, let me know!!! I will post that one for sweet pork salad on my blog so you can all try it!! And if anyone is interested in doing this with a group from your neighborhood or family, let me know, I have recipes and a shopping list. It definitely takes the guess work out of preparing a meal!
Crawling ALREADY!
Dylan is CRAWLING!!! Actually, I am excited for him but not for me. I just took all my stairway gates down and i don't really want to put them back up. So I will have to watch him closer. He doesn't want to be cuddled or held anymore because he wants to be on the floor going places, doing things! My baby is growing up and I tell you what, I understand why the lady that lives across the street has 13 kids, the babies just keep growing up and growing up.... HEH HEH. Not really, but it is sad when our "intended" last child is going through all these phases and to think it will be the last time we get to experience it as parents. Well, good luck Dylan! You're REALLY going places now!!!
Potty Training
So as it goes, i haven't been able to visit many blogs or update my own lately.... I have two words for you POTTY TRAINING. Go back to the beginning of February, my girls started taking off their clothes and diapers and would just sporratically run around naked. Needless to say, that is VERY irritating. My mother in law told me that it was a sign of them being ready to potty train. Great!!! I go get the potties and the panties and the pull ups and the incentive charts and etc.. etc... and I now have to camp out in front of the bathroom door so I can catch one of the two naked girls streaking from the bathroom to hide, run, kick, what have you to get out of wearing diapers, panties, training pants, ANYTHING!!! So after they do their duty on the potty, I tell them to give me a 5 and we'll wash out hands and go to get their pants back on. NOPE, the next word to come out of their mouth is "POTTY" they aren't done because they don't want to get dressed. AHHH!! So, this is what has been going on in our fun little world. They have somewhat regressed a bit, but will still tell me when they have to go. They won't wear panties. Anyone have any suggestions? WISH US LUCK!!!
