The Golden Compass

So there's this movie coming out on the 7th of Dec. “It’s important for parents, if they’re going to allow their kids to see the movie or read the books, to have great discussion with their kids about what they do believe,” I've never heard of the movie before, but wanted to pass this along so that all could see what they thought, since the movie is geared toward children. There have been some comments made that in the last book, or movie, in the end they kill God.

Here is the link of what was in the e-mail.

kisses

Lacey is our kisser, if we don't watch out, she's going to be a little boy kisser!!!

Proud Daddy

Brad is very excited to have a boy after 3 girls in a row. Our dog is also a girl, so Brad up until now was surrounded by girls. I think his pride shows in this video. Reminds me of the Lion King.

Chasing twins

Tenille and Lacey have decided it is now fun to chase one another. Only Tenille is the only one that chases Lacey. In fact, if Lacey falls, Tenille reaches down to pick her up so that she can chase her again.

Welcome....

.....Max Bretton Horspool

He was born Oct. 24th around 5:30 pm.

He is 9 lbs and is 22 inches long. VERY cute baby.

So here's the story. Missy went in Oct 23rd at 6:00 to be induced. She was 39 weeks along and was miserable. They determined that she was a carrier for staff which could pass along meningitis to the baby so they had to put her on antibiodics for 2 hours before they could induce her. Then they determined that she had Toximia, which is what I had with the twins. The symptoms are high blood pressure, you have too much protein in your urine, and you blow up like a balloon. It is also most common to get Toxemia in your first pregnancy, which she is in. So they put her on Magnesium Sulfate. A.K.A. the most HORRIBLE drug on the face of the planet. It slows down your system so much. The first sensation is that it makes you feel hot (my feet were sweating) and then cold because the breezy hospitals and then all the sweat on your body. It makes you feel just gross, you can't think or function, it's unreal!!! Anyhow, so then they put her on Pit, which didn't do much for her. The resident ended up breaking her water at 3 in the morning. So, all that being said, I call the next morning to see if I had a new nephew. NOPE, she was only dialated to a 7 and she was miserable. By 2:45 that afternoon she was at a 10 and after an hour of pushing, NOTHING, the baby was facing down (plus he was a big baby). So the doctor comes in and said, "Well, lets push for another hour and then if we get nowhere, we'll do a c-section." WHAT???? I was shocked in the first place because when I had Toximia, it was kind of a get the babies out of here now, they didn't even give me the option of a vaginal delivery. So, after another 20 minutes the nurse called the doctor and the doctor gave the go ahead on a c-section. so they prepped her and the baby was finally born. WHAT A NIGHTMARE! I went to the hospital last night to get the pictures and talk to Missy, but she was OUT! Poor thing had the morphine button in her hand and was sleeping through everything that was going on. I just called up there and Brett said she is still asleep and hasn't even budged.

We love you Brett, Missy, and Max! Can't wait for you to come home!

Dust

This morning we were in the living room playing and reading books when Lacey all of a sudden started pointing. She was pointing at the dust particles in the air.

So I decided to read up on what dust is and this is what I came up with. GROSS

Dust is made of just about everything. Household dust is composed primarily of things like human skin and hair, waxes, pollen, mold, fungi, lichen, tiny particles of wood, paint, fibers from fabrics such as wool, nylon, rayon, acrylic (and in the disco '70s lots and lots of polyester), foam rubber, sheet rock, plant and vegetable matter, insect parts, and of course every form of pollution such as auto and industrial emissions, heavy hydrocarbon waste from your oil or gas heater, even tiny bits of metal debris from door hinges or any place where metal and friction meet, lots of food waste, and loads of paper fiber...

If you take a few fingers full out of your vacuum cleaner, put it in a plastic bag, and bring it to school, you can look at a glob under a microscope at various powers and see all kinds of really nasty looking things in there. You'll need to pull the blobs apart to differentiate some of the more twisted items - but it's totally hideous.

So I told Tenille and Lacey and this was their reactions:

A Day in Park City

So yesterday Brad and I got away for a WHOLE DAY!!!! WITHOUT THE KIDS!!!!!!!!! It was GREAT! We went to Park City and did some Christmas shopping and just took our time enjoying each other! Then we threw a surprise party for my Mom at their Condo in Park City! It was lots of fun, lots of food, games and people! I can't remember the last time I had a day without the kids. I'm sure it was before Dylan was born so at least 3 months ago. It's amazing how in just a day I can feel like an adult again. Someone that is fun to be with. Not just Tenille, Lacey, and Dylans mom. With Brad being in Cedar City most of the weekdays and coming home on the weekend, we have to cherish every moment together. I can't wait till the kids and I get to move down there to be with him! It will definetly be an adventure!

We love our brother

Today i walked into Dylans room to put away some laundry and this is how I found Tenille and Lacey.

They really seem to be liking their brother. If he is having play time on the floor, Tenille and Lacey just love to be around him. I think it is adorable. But I do have to keep a close watch on him so that they don 't poke his eyes out or step on him.

More girls????

So Dylan is surrounded by girls on the Garrett side of the family. Besides Ashton, it's been girls! Anyhow, they were down this past weekend and he got to meet them.

What are all these girls! (Lynzee, Dylan, Kynzee)

And now my sisters too! 4 girls????

Moms of Twins holding twins!

Twins, holding twin cousins.

Tenille and lacey were sick this weekend, so they were little pills. They wanted me all the time and during church, if I had a gun.... HEE! Anyhow, They are better now and much happier. We can't wait to see you guys again!

Meeting new cousins

Brad's sister Shanna brought her kids down early. They came down on Saturday before the blessing. Kesslee and Ashton kept asking me where the baby was. He was sleeping when they got to our house so they had to wait until morning to hold them. Here they are!

Kesslee

Ashton

They are really good at holding babies because they have twin sisters who are just 1 week younger than Dylan.

the fly aways

Trampolines are so much fun. I remember whenever I jumped on the trampoline I got static hair really bad. Just like I had put my finger into an electrical outlet. Anyhow, I guess like Mother, Like daughter. Tenille and Lacey got some really good fly aways!

Here is Lacey

This is Lilly

Blessing Day

We Blessed Dylan on Oct. 14th. Afterwards we had some people over for lunch. It was lots of fun. Thanks everyone for coming!

That's me dressing Dylan

Dylan was really good the whole day.

These are some friends, Pat and Nicole, and their baby Lincoln. He is 5 months old.

How did they....???

So, Tenille and lacey woke up from their nap, and they were happy so I continued doing what I was doing so I could finish and then they were just crying... like something really really bad had happened. I ran in there and lo and behold I found both of them like this....

.... How did one, let alone BOTH of them decide to put their shirts that way? It is beyond me. I laughed for 15 minutes.. SOrry Tenille and Lacey, I was laughing at your pain! HEE

Treehouse Museum

We took a little jaunt to the Treehouse Museum. It was a lot of fun and the girls really seemed to like it! Although, I think it is for older kids, like 2-3 year olds at youngest. They found things to play with that were interesting to them and that is what matters right? We also took them to the Discovery Gateway Museum. THE BEST! I loved it for the girls, I would take them to that museum over the treehouse, but it is a lot more expensive.

Baby toys... again?

Lacey playing with the Toy, Tenille in the background

Tenille just hanging out on the floor

So, I got all Tenille and Laceys old baby toys out and now that is ALL Tenille and Lacey want to play with. Dylan can't have any. VERY POSSESSIVE! Sheesh! If I am trying to play with Dylan, they flip a cookie! They want the toy he has! I really wish I could reason with a 1 and 1/2 year old! I've tried, it just doesn't work. Anyhow, I find it funny that they have regressed a bit since Dylan was born. They want his bottles, his pacifiers, his blankets, spitrags, you name it.

So, I have another funny story. Tenille is possessive of those links, and Lacey loves to push Tenilles buttons. It made Brad mad because of the incesant screaming and wailing. He THREW THEM OUT THE DOOR!!!! Bye Bye Links. Tenille and Lacey just stood there looking at him, like they couldn't believe their eyes. At this rate, if Brad throws everything out the door that they fight over, we won't have ANYTHING left in the house! HEE

smiles

Here are a few pics of my Dylan smiling! I love his smile, it's like he's smiling ear to ear!

Dylan is starting to grow out of his colic! YAY!!! Mind you, he still cries, but not like he was, he is a joy to be around, he will sit and watch his mobile for an hour and then just fall asleep if he's not poopy or hungry! He love the bath and I will let him stay in as long as he will without crying! He has now started sleeping about 6-8 hours the first stretch of the night and I love it! Gives me some ME time!

Hard Work

So, I've decided it's really difficult to be a mother of 3 kids when they are all under 18 months. Don't get me wrong, I love everything about them, although right now it is really hard. I find myself wishing I could go BACK to work because it's easier!!! I know that this is the place I should be but it doesn't make it any easier. Someone once said that negative thoughts and comments are toxic (thanks Tiffany). I now totally agree with you, if I am having a rotten day and gettiing upset with the way things are going, I find that it becomes worse. So goes the saying "if mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy. So, like today, rather than rant about all the things that are going wrong, I'll think about the things that are going right in my life and all the infinite blessings that are in my midst. There's this poem that I read that goes:

I hope that my child, looking back on today,
Remembers a mother who had time to play.
Children grow up while we're not looking,
There'll be years ahead for cleaning and cooking.
So cobwebs be quiet and dust go to sleep,
I'm rocking my baby, and babies don 't keep.

So, when I read through that poem, it also makes me think that, who cares what my house looks like! (besides me of course) I just have to let it go and let my kids know how much I really do love them. I need to teach them and cherish them while they are still little! I never want them to think I didn't have the time for them! They are some of the most important blessings in my life and I am grateful that Heavenly Father blessed us with them.
